Holy Week this year is anything but normal. The typical Maundy Thursday Eucharist, the gathering of the faithful Good Friday few, the large crowds of Easter are all displaced with quiet and solitude.
In a strange way, that makes this Holy Week like the first Holy Week… when a small group gathered around a dining room table on Thursday, the crowds scattered on Good Friday, people stayed home afraid on Holy Saturday, and the women traveled alone to the tomb on Easter Sunday.

The emptiness of this Holy Week, though unfamiliar to us, is very familiar to the sacred story. In fact, it is the story of Easter.

Below you will find resources that we will use as we live into the sacred emptiness of Easter this year.
The orders for prayer for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday are to be used at home. We encourage you to connect with others via social media or telephone as you join together in praying for God to sanctify the emptiness of Holy Week, and lead us to life. For Easter Sunday, we will all gather online and greet the risen Christ together.

This is anything but a normal Holy Week, except to God. Who, since the first Easter, has been rolling away stones and meeting scattered crowds behind closed doors in order to lead them to life.
